New Years DIY Week: Part 1

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I can't believe it's already 2012. New years are always filled with resolutions for a productive head start on the year, cutting back on those cookies you love so much, and the ever-dreaded gym membership.

While everyone is still feeling the ambitious after effects of the new year I figured I would fill this week with some great DIY projects I love!

This first one I couldn't wait to share are these adorable flower bulb favors I found on Martha Stewart Weddings. They are so easy to put together and will ensure that the memory of your special day will remain over time with all of your family and friends.

Step 1: To wrap the bulb, stack two pieces of tissue paper and fold them in half side to side, then top to bottom.

Step 2: Download the template for dahlia flowers and cut it out. Trace lightly around the template, and then cut on the line to create a tissue-paper dahlia. Open tissue paper and rotate top sheet slightly so the petal tips are staggered.

Step 3: Wrap the tissue-paper dahlia around the bulb, drawing the sides up and to the center. Tie with string.

You can find more detailed instructions here!  How great are these favors?!?
