Bridesmaid Pledge

You've gone and done it! You've asked your closest friends and family to be in your wedding party. But what if your best girl friend since 3rd grade gains 20 pounds in-between you asking her to be your bridesmaid and the wedding, do you sue her? Do you fire her? Do you publicly flog her?

Take a peek at a Bridesmaid Contract - here are some highlights:

  • I won't gain more than 7 pounds before your wedding
  • I won't get drunk at your wedding
  • I won't get pregnant before your wedding
  • I won't bring an inappropriate date to the wedding
  • I won't hit on the best man

Yeah, it's good stuff...

hmmmm...while i am assuming it is all in good humor, i just can't get past how self-centered it is. the most insensitive is the one stating not to get pregnant before the wedding. it is shocking to me how many people are blissfully unaware of just how difficult it is to have a completely healthy pregnancy and birth. believe me, if you have every yourself, or through someone you know, experienced this heartbreaking truth, you would never, never, never suggest to someone that they schedule their childbearing based on your event.

ok...i'll get off my soapbox now. i just couldn't let it go.

I think it's really funny! It IS in good humor, so no need for soapbox time :)
