Wedding Seating for Loved Ones

Found via Style me Pretty
I am hearing from brides all the time that they want to recognize a departed loved one, but not make their program read like a funeral card, or not do enough to show that their mom, dad, grandparent, sister, aunt or uncle, (insert passed on loved one here), how much they truely meant to you.

I think this way is just lovely. A gorgeous timeless photograph showing that your mom/dad/grandparent would have or is sitting here.

Plexiglass Menu Card

Found via Bernadette Coveney Smith via Luxe Finds

I found these super modern and go with everything menu cards and table numbers and I knew I had to share them with you!

Printing on Plexiglass can be pretty cost effective, if you are looking for something different, unique and gives you the ability to express yourself, I think you've found your medium.

Tree Wedding Cake Stand

Borrowed from Ruffled Blog
I love the look of a rustic cake stand, and honestly, can you get more rustic than a big ole' slab of wood? Prolly not.

What I love is that both of these cakes are very different, one is tone on tone (meaning white on white) with branches intertwined around the middle layer.

And the other has big huge romantic blooms and succulents cascading down the cake.

While they sit atop a slab of wood.

Romantical and Eco Friendly? I'd say so.

Gorgeous Wedding Gown with Back Butt

Found via Style me Pretty
I love this dress, and when I saw this post on Style Me Pretty's Facebook, there were gazillion of ladies posting about how gorgeous this dress is, and I agree, it's pretty spectacular.

However........

Someone should have fixed this, the zipper has created a back butt I am sure her photographer can help minimize the look and appearance, or get rid of it all together...

The way to minimize or eliminate back butt on the day of your wedding, is to have your Maid of Honor, Best Woman, Best Friend, Mom, Janitor, Wedding Planner, whoever, slide their hand down your back and smooth it, slide their hand from side to side... and ta da no back butt!

Love the Gown, sad about the back tush.

Don't you love this!?!?!?!?

And the lace table linen is nothing to snub my nose at either...

Draping the Ceiling

Found on Pinterest via This Blog
Draping the entire ballroom for your wedding can create such a dramatic effect, it's so gorgeous, romantic, and frankly, it's a bit costly.

But it's so pretty!

So, what if you just draped over the head table or family table, and then utilized the drapping effect against the wall?

I love this! This goes in my top 5 Awesometasticness!

Ohhhh, maybe I should create an award? The Awesometastical, Awesometasicy, or just Awesometastic... hmmmm....

Do we Inspire you?

Found via Hostess with the Mostess via Pinterest
What do pink foggy drinks have to do with this post.

Not much. But they sure look cool!

Anyway, I feel so honored when a planner, friend, stationer, designer, says they their client found something on our blog and were so inspired by that they they want to do {fill in the blank}.

So, when I saw this from Events North. I was just so honored.

We at The Awesometastic Blog, love Events North, and the fact that they find us inspiring, is well, inspiring!

Here's toasting to you, and hoping you find some inspiration from our little bloggity blog!

Photo Gift Canvas

I was recently contacted by a website, Canvas by Demand, and they offered me a free canvas, if I reviewed it on my blog.

Frankly, I am offered free stuff all the time, in exchange to review, and rarely do I accept. I just have a thing, what if I don't like it, what if there is a problem and I have to write a negative review, what if this, what if that...

But this time I took them up on it.

I mean a photo gift, how awesome, right?

So, I ordered the picture that I snapped on my phone, and thought I'd hang it in the bathroonm, it'll remind me forever and always that my boys once loved each other, and that at one time in their lives they were adorable, and sweet, and gave me kisses.

Frankly, the customer services was great, the product was pretty fantastic.... I am pretty impressed with Canvas on Demand, and I already bought 2 more canvases... like with real money.

Pearls on the end of a Bouquet

So Pretty, Thanks Wedding Bee
Your wedding bouquet doesn't have to be a bunch of green stems sticking out, how pretty is this! I feel like the pearls just finish off the end of the bouquet.

We kind of think this is awesomtastic!

Couch to 5K

Borrowed Image from this site
Okay, so, I have to admit something... I am not a runner.

In fact, I hate running. Nothing against those that love it, honestly, ya'll rock in my book, I am jealous of your amazing legs, your fit trim body and your endurance.

In fact, I've always thought I had Exercise Induced Asthma, is that a thing? Or did I make it up in head?

(reminder to self, must Google that)

Anyway. I've decided that I am going to run a 5K, I've always wanted to, but well, I can't run. I look reeeeedikulous when I run. Like I have a severe mental disability. So, in order to not embarrass myself, I've always stuck to what I am good at.

Watching TV.

But it's time. It's time to learn to run, do a 5K and then a Triathlon.

So, I started a training program called Couch to 5K, I started it about a month ago, and so far, so good. I've been able to do each week, and I feel good about myself. Still not a runner.

I still look like I belong in a mental hospital, but I guess function over form.

I figured I'd use my blog as an accountablity site for my running.

Week 4, done, and I'm not dead. That's a plus.

Anyone else a better couch potato, than a runner?

Hire a Professional Photographer

I could get on my soap box right now, and tell you how important it is to hire a professional photographer, if you've read my blog for a while, you know that I didn't hire a professional for my wedding, and wound up with green photographs. Green. Like Green, Green.

Don't believe me... check it out!

Okay, so here you see why Aunt Martha may not be the best choice for your wedding photography. Cuz, she did such a great job at my wedding.

So, here are side by side images that were taken around the same time... the one on the left... professional photographer. The one of the right, a friend with a super nice camera.

In the interest of full disclosure - I stole this photograph from Planning...Forever Events

Rae Leytham: Amazing Photography

I believe that a photographer's sole job is to capture your wedding on film and tell a story, your wedding story.

So when looking for your wedding photographer, ask to look at their albums (digital or book or whatever) and if you can't really see a story, then well, you've been warned.

When I saw this wedding on Rae Leytham's site, I just knew I was smitten with this couple, and I hadn't even met them. Yet I felt like I was totally at their wedding.... maybe I was the Maid of Dishonor in my head... did I just say that outloud?

This was just a snippet from this amazing couple's wedding, check out Rae's blog for more gorgeousness!

What was your determining factor when looking for your photographer?

Pearl Wrislet Corsage

Source for Awesometastic Idea
About a year ago we did a wedding where the florist created these gorgeous wrist corsages and used pearl braclets instead of elastic. I thought it was genius...

Is it just me or do you just love this idea too?

Hand Painted Wedding Cake

Sweet Disposition Cakes
I was spending hours a few minutes on Pinterest, when I stumbled upon this cake. I cannot tell you how much I love this!

The hand painted Peonies are just gorgeous and to top it off with Sugar Flowers, it's just gorgeous. I am not sure if I could actually eat it. It's just so beautiful!

And I don't know that I want to know how long those flowers took to paint on the cake.

Is it just me, or is this not gorgeous?

Vintage Key Seating Chart

I was purusing some of my favorite blogs this weekend, and I came across this totally fantastic seating chart from ADORE Events!

It's vintage chic with tons of charm!

I am curious though, at one time these keys were used for something...

I just wonder who's they were and what they were used for? Am I the only geek who thinks that way?

Family on your Bouquet

Photography By: Morgan Matters Photography
We are always looking for beautiful ways to incorporate your family (either those no longer with us, or your entire family) into your wedding, and I love this idea of carrying small photographs tied into your bouquet!

Just so sweet, and really something that can be passed on to your family for future weddings.I saw this on MasterPiece Weddings Blog, a few weeks ago, and I knew I just had to share it.

Did you do something awesometastic to tie in your families wedding in yours?

Wedding Cake and Truffles

Truffle Wedding Cake - Designed and Created by KB Kakes

You love the taste of Truffles, and you want the look and elegance of a wedding cake, it's you are having this internal battle with yourself... Cake, Truffles, NO Cake, No Truffles... I hear ya.

Then you are worried your Mother In Law is going to disown you because you don't have a traditional wedding cake. Honestly... it's your wedding. YOUR wedding.

So, Kathy from KB Kakes designed this cake, both elegant and sophisticated, with a touch of, er, truffles! Perfect!

Right... it's perfect!

I love this because you have the quilted look on the fondant, the gorgeous silver cake stand, a topper to keep, a cake to cut, and truffles! It's perfect.

Would you do this for you wedding? What do you think of the truffle trend for including them as part of your wedding cake?

What size portrait should I get for my wall

Portrait sizing by Meg Fish

This example shows a baby, but really it could be anything... a wedding image, an image you took with your camera and want to get a print for the wall over the couch or mantle...

I just thought this was a great idea to show you just how small an 8x10 looks on the wall.

What do you think? Does this help you?

Make an Entrance

Source
Outdoor weddings can have some drawn out walks since the holding area may be far away from the alter, but making a special doorway for the wedding party's entrance or even just the brides entrance makes for a super cool addition to outdoor wedding decor!

And you could use it for a photobooth frame during your reception, we sort of love this idea.

Who wants to build me one of these?
