Kristin and Taylor - Simply Amazing!

Do you remember this inspiration board? Well, it was created for Kristin and Taylor, and their wedding was amazing! The bride wore teal, a deep amazing teal, and the florals were the deepest burgandy - the feel of the wedding was intimate and fun!

With Champagne and Cotton Candy served at the cocktail hour, and a beautiful intimate day, with tons of time for photographs... I guess that's what you get the one of the most amazing photographers daughter gets married... simply amazing'ness!

This is the perfect example of why having a photographer there to capture the entire day is important, every intimate moment was captured, whether Susan (the brides mommy) was looking on from afar watching her daughter get dressed, or Stewart (the brides daddy) glimpsed over to see is baby girl getting ready for her wedding day.

There are so many images - So I bring you Part 1: Getting Ready - Together

Simply Amazing Right! There is more to come, stay tuned!

Register Yourself!

I recieved an email the other day asking about registering for gifts- I was hoping to get my readers fantabulous input!

Let me know what you think, in the comments.

So... My cousin is getting married in a few weeks, the issues was that him and his fiance didn't register very many places (read: ONE) and they already live together so they have an entire house full of stuff already. And to top it off what was on the registry I wasn't in love with by any means.

So what's a family member (or generous friend) to do?! We're going in on a family gift so we are looking to spend more money then I would on a friend but... then what do I buy?! Yikes!

I suggested a TV (which my mom shot down) and a Kegerator (also shot down). Her argument was a TV would not last the life of their marriage - but other then ugly china you never use what does?

We have settled on a wine refriderator.

Now, it's your turn, what do you think, do you think that it's the couples way of asking for cash gifts? Or is it just harder as you get older and already have 2 houses full of stuff to register? Maybe it's that they want that "stuff" that she isn't in love with... You tell me!

Dave and Leslie!!! Part 1

This wedding was incredible! It was beautiful, and touching, and amazing, inside and out!

Leslie and her two children are now apart of Dave's life forever, and I don't think Dave could have imagined his life without them in it.

And forget the Limo, how about 3 amazing vintage cars!!!

A tender moment, captured for all time

I love when the bride gets a sneak peak

Not a Flower Child?

A girl who doesn’t like flowers. Does this rare species even exist? If you find yourself fitting into this category, or if you can’t justify spending thousands of dollars of your wedding budget on something that will die in two days, this post is for you!

Don’t these fans look lovely and fit perfectly in with the Spanish feel of the wedding?!

What about a bouquet made of beads??? So simple, yet so beautiful!

How about these fun feather arrangements made by Emplume?

Thanks Maggie for putting together such a fun post!

I love these fun alternatives! What do you think?

Stacey and Chris's WOW Wedding!

When I first met with Stacey and Chris, I knew I loved them! Their wedding adjectives were Fun, Party, and Elegant! How can you go wrong!!!
The wedding was at The Thomas Center, a historic building, it used to be a hotel, and when the owner of the property died, he didn't have will, and the City of Gainesville took it over, it's now city offices. And then rent out some of the spaces for events. It's just a lovely facility!
Fun and Fabulous!

Non-Cake/Cake...

Don't like cake? Read this!!

There are many reasons why couples are choosing not to have a wedding cake at their reception. They may be seeking something nontraditional and edgy and as they become bored by "the norm".

Perhaps they have attended too many catered weddings where no one touched the cake because they'd already had a full meal plus dessert. Budget can be another reason seeing as though cakes (anddon't forget serving fees!) are awfully expensive -or maybe, just maybe, they plain old DON'T LIKE CAKE.

The secret to a wedding cake alternative is simple--PRESENTATION.

Whatever you're serving, think possibly stack it in tiers. You can get really creative in your dessert table and turn almost anything into food fit for the most special occasion.

Some fun alternatives to cake include: pies, ice cream sundaes (who doesn't love a good banana split), a candy bar, rice krispie treats, fudge, chocolate fountain, cake truffles and dessert shooters.

Again, the key to cake alternatives is presentation. I personally love when non-traditional desserts are stacked in tiers to look like a traditional wedding cake. It makes for a classy, yet fun twist to your dessert display. Look at all these colorful cake alternatives. What do you think??

What would you do instead of cake?

Transforming Orange and Blue

Orange and blue are not only the colors of our Title Town National Championships, but also weddings! And when you think of these spirited colors you don't have to envision drunken gator fans…here are some fun ideas to help transform your gator themed wedding from trashy to classy!

Keep it simple! Orange bouquets look fabulous against rich blue bridesmaids dresses! This colorful combo will make for great pictures.

Add pizzazz! Incorporating your colors into your guest favors will add a little pizzazz to an otherwise boring name card table.

Mix it up! Lastly, try adding playful centerpieces like this floral combo: thistle, echinops, sea holly, anemones, hypericum, spray roses, calla lilies, sunflowers, fernshoots, and a few peacock feathers! This will add some color to your reception tables and would look lovely over rich blue or orange table runners. (picture 3)

Thank you Maggie for such a great post on making our school colors shine!!

Sing me a Song!

While we are being laid back, why not consider a Karaoke Rehearsal Dinner? It can even be a "after party" after the rehearsal dinner.

I know Karaoke has gotten a bad reputation, but in a large group of friends it can be alot of fun, and really a nice stress reliever!

So when you are thinking of things to do for your dinner or after, just remember, as long as you are having fun, putting your own spin on your day - then it doesn't matter what you doing! Just have fun with the ones you love!

Forrrrre Your Rehearsal

Alright, please excuse the ridiculously cliche title of this post, I thought it was cute.... because I am corny like that!
If you are trying to change things up for your rehearsal dinner, why not tee off for a round of mini golf? Your guests will enjoy the casual atmosphere and you take relief some stress prior to your wedding day!
You can also combine a BBQ meal, your favorite food, or maybe a big ole' comfort food buffett.
Bridesmaids vs. Groomsmen is always a fun rilvary! Girls vs. Boys?
Have fun with it, make it your own - and you will never be disappointed!
