Most girls dream of walking down the isle in a big white dress. It's one of the only consistent wedding traditions. Now we see most brides leaning towards an off white dress and every once and awhile a modern bride comes along who wants to make a statement. Her statement just happens to fall in the midst of a white tradtion. She goes against the grain and wears a colored dress:

So for our bride readers out there who are leaning towards the colored dress trend, we say to stop and think first.
Disadvantages:
- You may not be the only one wearing your color.
- You can always wear a colored dress.
- What color will your bridesmaids wear? Colors are harder to pair up together.
- When can you honestly wear another big white dress again?
Advantages:
- Colors compliment most skin tones better than white or ivory.
- Don't have to worry THAT much about staining your dress.
- You're the bride, so you will stand out regardless of the color of your dress.
- A colored dress can incoprorate your color scheme and vision more.
So how far is too far for a pop of color? Do any of you brides plan on wearing a colored dress? And do any of you traditional brides think it's going too far?
Wow, I so wish this had even been on the horizon when I got married! To be completely honest, white washes me out and makes me look heavier... but pink on the other hand compliments my skin and is the color my husband always compliments me most in. I would have loved to surprise him with a pink gown if I had to do it all over again!
ReplyDeleteI think it's a cute and unique thing to do... but I prefer to be traditional and wear white. I think a pop of color elsewhere is great, shoes, sash on dresh, hand bag, etc.
ReplyDeleteI adore that first blue dress! It is stunning.
ReplyDeleteHi! I´m from spain, we don`t have bridesmaid, so we dont have to match with no one. I will be married next april, and i will be wearing a colour dress, no sure of the color right now, i like apple green and strawberry red, that both fit better with my olive skin.
ReplyDeleteAnd it will be a dress like ME, not like any princess dress...
Most of the bride wear a white dress at the time of wedding. I think white dress now a days look so boring. I like your idea about color wedding dress. I think this idea work for the future.
