Engaged! Ashley & Jordan

Your wedding is gonna start with an engagment, a YES and ring... it could be a candy ring, a toliet paper ring, some kind of ring... and a YES (did I mention that?)

So why not celebrate it with yummy, fun pictures! It's a great way to get used to your photographer and being in front of the camera. Since most of us aren't in front of the camera, every day.

Sooooooooo, this week, we celebrate, the engagement. With our sexy clients, of course.

Entertaining Tips: Cheap and Fun

I love the idea of inviting people over and ensuring they aren't spending alot of money to come over. So how about setting a limit, or calling it "Back to College Night"

The Freshman 15 doesn't happen because you're enjoying "Steak au Poive" every night, it happens because Rice-a-Roni and Ramen Noodles and Kraft Mac-n-Cheese.

So how about invitng friends over with the idea to create something you enjoyed back then, set a $5 limit and see what they can come up with.

Here Comes the Bride

The ringbearer typically holds a pillow with/or without the real rings on a pillow. But how about this? How stinking cute is this!

Wedding Day Timeline 101

This is not they type of timeline we put together, but it gets the point across.

Really, once you get to the reception it's more of a schedule of events, something happens first, second and third, ect... but you have to get there.

One thing that can totally throw off your timeline is photography. If you don't plan for enough time to take pictures after or before your ceremony, because taking too much time after your ceremony for photographs, can throw off your whole reception.

Here's how taking an extra 15 minutes for pictures can throw off your reception by 1 hour.

So you are taking pictures at your ceremony location, so your photographer can capture those amazing images (and I am not knocking the photographer, it could be your pastor taking an extra 15 minutes in the ceremony, or starting your ceremony 15 minutes late...)

Now you are 15 minutes late to your cocktail hour, so your cocktail party is late getting your guests into the main ballroom, which will add another 10 minutes to your late'ness factor (LF), then the DJ isn't ready for your introductions because he just started a song that won't fade it out or your band then took their first brake and there is no way to do your announcements, 10 minutes to LF, we are now 35 minutes behind, and then the banquet staff gets salads served, and the meals are taking longer because they had to remake some of them so the meat wouldn't be dry or the fish wouldn't be over cooked. Now we are 45 minutes late, and the bride and groom want to mingle with their guests and that takes longer, so we need another 15 minutes you are now an hour behind.

Your wedding planner can help make up this time, or make sure that those first 15 minutes don't happen in the first place.

Entertaining Tips: BBQ

When throwing a BBQ party, make it relaxed and casual for a summer BBQ, try to avoid mayo based salads, make a tomato and basil salad with a champagne vinegarette, instead.

If you are having lots of people over, have beer in buckets along with maybe a signature lemonade, after all it's a bajillion degrees outside. Something non-alcoholic and light would be delicious and refreshing.

Importance of a Timeline

A wedding timeline is needed for many reasons on the day of your wedding. Your wedding planner will help you put together a timeline and it's so important for more vendors than just when photography takes place, or when you toast, or when you dance.

This week I want to discuss some reasons why you need a timeline. And why it's helpful for all of your vendors to be considerate of what the timeline says, if it's do'able. And if it's a well put together timeline, and things are going well, there is no reason why it shoudn't work.

Tomorrow we'll talk about the small things that a can mess up a well put together timeline.

Eat More Chikin!

{My nieces last month}

Caution:: Unrelated Wedding Post Ahead

So, I was on the phone wtih my sister the other day, my neice Peyton butts in (not unusual) and this is our conversation:

Peyton: Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, Auntie Missa!

Me: Hey Peyton!

Peyton: Auntie Missa, why are their cows outside of Chik-fil-a?

Me: Well, Peyton, the cows want you to eat chicken and not cows.

Peyton: Ohhhh, that's good, because cows are gross and they have yucky pen!ses on their bellies.

Entertaining Tips - Holiday

New Rule

I hope ya'll had a great 4th of July! When you host a party for a holiday go with the theme of the night when you decorate. Here are some simple ideas:

Fill a glass vase with items that go with the theme of your holiday, for Christmas, use Christmas Tree Balls.

But keep those glass vases around, fill them with themed items for each party! For thanks giving, use beans. And multiple smaller vases.

For 4th of July, Red, White and Blue Jelly Beans!

Try to use items you have around the house, or use scrapbook paper to wrap around the glass vase and then fill with beautiful flowers.

Most of all, have fun!

Casablanca Photoshoot - Ceremony

The Casablanca Photoshoot wedding was done literally, theater style. So the "guests" were seated in a movie theater. It was perfect!!! The Theater Style ceremony lent its hand perfectly to a wedding! I got to play minister. So you know I had to muck up the vows.
